POST PRESIDENTIAL SUMMIT ON MDGs YOUTH FORUM
Participated in the Post-Presidential Summit on MDGS Youth Forum at World Bank, with support from UNMC, UNICEF, ILO IOM, WorldBank, UNFPA, WATERAID and ACTIONAID
The forum reviewed the following issues: - Poverty reduction and human capital development -Access to inclusive and equitable quality of education - Access to healthcare (including sexual and reproductive health) to reduce maternal and infant deaths - Addressing gender and all forms of inequalities - Youth employment and decent work -Youth participation in Sustainable Agriculture and food security - Access to water and sanitation among others.

International Exchange Visit
Mr. Desmond Chieshe led a team of slum dwellers, community leaders, government officials and members of the press to Kenya on exchange visit to interact with slum communities in Kenya and other stakeholders for experience sharing, networking and exchange of ideas on how to improve their situation and match towards sustainable human settlement development.

Community's Training on Housing Rights
Training of communities in FCT, Abuja on their Rights to Housing, as citizens under the National and International Laws by Malavika Centre for Housing Right and Evictions (COHRE) and Desmond Women Environmental Programme (WEP).

Desmond Chieshe T. (Mr.) from Vandeikya, Benue State,
Nigeria.
Desmond holds a Master of Science Degree (M.Sc) in Urban Management and Development (UMD) with specialization in Urban Environmental Management (UEM) and PGD in Land Development Strategies from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies of Erasmus University, Rotterdam the Netherlands, PGD in Management from Benue State University Makurdi, Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management from College of Agriculture Yandev. He has been a very passionate advocate for Sustainable Human Settlement Development for more than Seven (7) years. He head Environment Thematic Project of Human Settlement in Urban Slums of Women Environmental Programme (WEP) since 2004 to date.
He has led members of Slum Dwellers, Traditional Leaders, Government Officials and members of the Press in Nigeria on exchange programme to Ghana twice (2007 & 2008) and Kenya in 2009
He participated in study tour sponsored by IHS the Netherlands to Demark and LUND University Sweden on Housing and Human Settlement Development.
